Substitute Dance/Movement Therapist

Heartsong Inc. is seeking substitute dance and movement therapists for our Saturday program in White Plains.  Therapists will act as a substitute for our lead therapist when therapist is unable to attend sessions due to sickness,  vacation, or medical leave.  Our ideal candidates will be open to being contacted as needed and flexible in their availability.

Heartsong is an entirely creative arts therapy based, non-profit, organization that provides clinical, educational, and rehabilitative creative arts therapy services to adults and children with developmental disabilities who range in age, need, and ability.  We staff creative arts therapists of all modalities (art, dance, music and drama) and pride ourselves in our ability to offer exceptional clinical services to enhance the quality of life of our clients and their families.  Heartsong has been privileged to serve over 1,200 children, adults and their families since our inception in 1992. 

 

Job Requirements:

 

• Masters in Dance Therapy from an accredited institution
• License in Creative Art Therapy
• Understanding of human growth and development and ability to use developmentally appropriate clinical interventions to target individuals with varying physical, emotional and cognitive needs. 
• Experience in group work and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
