Dance/Movement Therapy

Licensed Dance/Movement Therapist — Myndfl Mental Health (Northbrook, IL)

Myndfl is a trauma-informed mental health practice in Northbrook, Illinois, for people who have done real work in therapy and still can’t get to what’s underneath. We specialize in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and body-based therapies for complex trauma, treatment-resistant depression, substance use and grief. Our mission is to help people become comfortable in their skin.

The role
Many of the people we see understand what happened and why, yet their bodies still brace, tighten or shut down. As our Dance/Movement Therapist, you’ll use movement, breath, rhythm and embodied awareness to help clients find their way back to safety, presence and ease, working alongside fellow therapists, psychiatric providers and KAP clinicians.

What you’ll do

  • Develop the Dance and Movement modality for Myndfl: Northbrook and lead/consult on its scalability to other locations outside of IL.
  • Provide individual dance/movement therapy for adults living with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and substance use
  • Lead movement-based and somatic groups grounded in nervous-system safety
  • Complete trauma-informed assessments and movement-informed treatment plans
  • Support and work along side KAP and psychedelic integration with embodied, body-based processing
  • Collaborate on case consultation and coordinated care every Friday; keep timely clinical documentation

What you bring

  • Master’s degree in dance/movement therapy (or related clinical field with ADTA-approved alternate-route training)
  • R-DMT or BC-DMT credential
  • Active Illinois counseling or social work license (such as LCPC, LPC, LCSW or LSW) for billing insurance when needed
  • Trauma and nervous-system-informed experience; comfort working with adults, children, couples and groups

Why Myndfl
Do amazing work. Change the future of mental healthcare. Be home in time for dinner. Collaborate with gifted therapists and whole wellness psychiatric and medical providers, build your practice the way you want, and feel respected, valued and rewarded for your work. Part-time with time to build to Full-Time around your needs and timeline; leader in competitive compensation (commensurate with experience.)
